Membership Types & Benefits

Membership fees for 2025/26 (1-Sep-25 to 31-Aug-26) are yet to be determined

Prices from last season are shown below for reference. Athletics Wollongong are keeping our 'club fee' the same this season ($40) but we are yet to be informed of the base membership charges for each type from NSW Athletics

Trialling Athlete - Those born in 2019 or prior are eligible. (Participate at one (1) AW club event before upgrading to full year membership. NB - this does not confer eligibility to win prizes/set records/etc. at that event)	$15

To upgrade your Membership Type during the season, log into your account (via the link at the top right of every page) then select Upgrade in the Membership Status section. You just pay the difference between the two membership prices. Contact the President or Registrar if you have any problems.

Multi-Club Membership

Members can hold a membership with more than one club.

For those in 13's and up: They can hold a full competitive membership with up to two clubs.
- Registration with their first club is done via that club's registration portal (i.e. via this page, for AW).
- Registration for their second club is done via application, completing and submitting a form yet to be made available for 2025/26. For AW, this 'second membership' will cost $40.
For those in 12's and under: They can hold one full competitive membership and a community membership with any number of other clubs
- Registration with their first club is done via that club's registration portal (i.e. via this page, for AW).
- Registration for their second club is done via that club's registration portal; select a Community membership.

The system for 12's and under remains unchanged from previous seasons. For instance, a 10-year-old could join their Little Athletics centre to compete at Zone and Region (AW can only provide this eligibility for those in 13's and up). They may also wish to regularly participate in AW's Wednesday meets though. If they choose a Community membership with Athletics Wollongong in addition to their full competitive membership with their Little Athletics centre, they would be eligible to break AW club records, earn points, win trophies, etc.

For those aged 13 and up (including Masters), a Multi-Club Membership gives these further benefits:

Athletes can represent either club at higher-level events (details to be specified on entry).
At State relays, they can compete for both clubs, only not in the same event-age group.

SPECIAL - Family Discount

Three or more in your family to register with Athletics Wollongong? You will get $10 off the price of each membership. Only full, competitive memberships are included in the offer (i.e. neither Trialling nor free/Volunteer memberships are counted). You also must all register at the same time: after you enter the details for your first family member's registration, you will be presented the options of "Proceed to checkout" and "Register another member"; select the latter to continue adding the remaining athletes. Note that the discount is applied at the time of payment, i.e. it's not a reimbursement. Once you're done, if the total is not what you expect, then please let us know so that we may investigate before any payment is made.

SPECIAL - Uni Students

Going to uni and new to the area? Want to try track and field? Athletes new to AW and attending Wollongong Uni can contact us for a registration discount code that will take $40 off membership costs (NB - Trialling category will still be $15, but if you wish to upgrade to another level of membership after your trial visit, then the discount will apply to that upgrade cost).

Active and Creative Kids Voucher

School students may use $50-$100 of Active and Creative Kids Vouchers to help pay registration fees. Obtain your Active Kids Voucher number before signing up and then enter it during the registration process. Ensure that is applied before paying; it can't be added retroactively.

Do not photograph

During our club evenings, photographs are often taken for historical records of club acivities or club publicity. If you do not wish your photograph to be taken, please speak to the club President to ensure your wishes are complied with.

(Note that the 'New Member' button is for those who haven't joined a NSW Athletics-affiliated club since Season 2018/19 - NOT those just new to Athletics Wollongong. If you're switching from another club, you'll still pick the Returning Member button. Accessing the registration console from AW's site here, alerts ANSW that you're joining Athletics Wollongong and not rejoining your previous club).
