Big congratulations to our clubmate Delta Amidzovski on her selection in the Australian team for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
It’s always special seeing someone from within the AW community step onto the international stage - and Delta’s journey is a great reminder for all of us of what consistent training, belief, and patience can build into.
Her selection follows a standout rise through the junior ranks, including gold at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games. Now Delta earns her place among Australia’s senior squad heading to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
She arrives in strong form, with a personal best of 6.84m from the National Championships - a mark that has her among the top contenders.
For context, it’s been 20 years since AW last had athletes at a Commonwealth Games, when Jaimee-Lee Starr (400m) and Petrina Price (high jump) represented the club in Melbourne 2006. (Petrina also earned selection again in 2010, but was unfortunately sidelined through injury).
Delta’s selection adds a fresh chapter to that story - and gives our younger athletes a live example of what “next level” progression can look like from right here in the club.
All eyes now turn to Glasgow 2026 — and we’ll be right behind her.
