In addition to an international standard athletics track, there is also a pool, gym and exercise class facilities; and a kiosk offering a variety of food, drinks and snacks. A BBQ will also be held on the day.

A grandstand, with toilet facilities, is available for competitors and their supporters, and there is plenty of space to erect shade shelters.

There is no gate entry fee into The Illawarra Regional Athletic Centre during the carnival.

Parking
Beaton Park Leisure Centre have asked that people driving to the Illawarra Schools & Youth Track & Field Carnival park their cars in the area to the north of the creek, adjacent to the Basketball Centre and towards the Gipps Street entrance. There is plenty of parking available, with easy access by pedestrian walkway. Being courteous in this regard allows other patrons of the Leisure Centre to maintain their access to the facilities on offer.

Travel by train
Beaton Park is a flat 1.5km walk from North Wollongong station and a mostly downhill 2km walk from Wollongong station, both of which are on the South Coast Intercity line. For information on State Rail timetables click here to link straight to State Rail's web site.

Bus Route 10 and Bus Route 11 of Premier Illawarra's service both skirt Beaton Park Leisure Centre.
